Only transporters permitted by DEA to carry out a waste management activity will be considered for appointment.

Successful tenderers will be awarded contracts for a period of not more than five years.

Provincial waste tyre transporters will be contracted in each Province of South Africa.

Provincial waste tyre transporters will be responsible for the sub-contracting of Regional waste tyre transporters within the Province.

Contracted transporters will be issued with a registration number by the SATRP Company and that registration number must be displayed on all trading documentation and waste tyre transport vehicles.

In order to avoid defrauding of the collection process waste tyre transporters will be obliged to apply all other processes approved by the SATRP Company, to manage the collection process.

Successful tenderers will be awarded contracts for a period of not more than seven years entitling them to an allocation of the waste tyres collected.

Only waste tyres processors in possession of a permit, license or exemption, issued by DEA enabling them to carry out a waste management activity, will be eligible to receive waste tyres.
